Merrimack College recognizes there may be some students in the College community struggling with adequate access to food. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) defines food insecurity as a lack of consistent access to enough food for an active, healthy life. Therefore, the College is taking a proactive approach to addressing student food insecurity/access and you can assist in this endeavor.      

• Donated meal swipes.The Swipe It Forward program allows Merrimack students enrolled in a Merrimack College dining plan to donate one meal a week from their plan to support other students struggling with food insecurity/access. To donate a meal, you would swipe your card at the cashier/greeter station in Sparky’s Place in the Sakowich Center.
• Meals donated are loaded into a bank and are distributed at the request of the Dean of Students.
